Why dis-ease becomes chronic?

Whew! Done with that and then what do you know, it’s reappeared. We are talking about our transient aches and pains, the ones that just seem to keep showing up and then going again. It gets to where we begin to feel annoyed by these constant pesky reminders.
What is creating these little lightening jolts of pain?
Where are these jabs coming from?
Why do I feel bruised and I haven’t even bumped into anything?
Why does my hand continue to ache clear down into my little fingers?
But deep down, we know. We are the creators of our own pain. Yes, whether we want to own our creations or not, we are the authors and creators of them. Without our input they would not be speaking back to us. “But, you say, I wouldn’t do that!” “I would not purposely create this sore back.”
Aha! that is another key, it’s true, we don’t purposefully create, we unconsciously create. It’s not that we begin our day thinking I am going to create a sore back for myself today, but we might wake up thinking I have a terrible burden to carry today. I am overwhelmed and under-appreciated. These very thoughts could be the ones that begin the creation of our aching back.
How does that pain become chronic? Chronic means it is always there, over and over again. Could it be that our first thoughts of the day, beginning when the alarm goes off are chronic? Over and over again are we entertaining the same thoughts and feelings? Are we playing the same tape over and over creating the same feedback through our body day after day?
Our bodies are mirrors of our innermost thoughts. They reflect back to us what we have been thinking just as faithfully as the sun reflects off the water. It isn’t that the sun has it out for the water and that there is some sinister master plan that makes the sun reflect and glint off the water. The water faithfully, day after day, gives the only response that it can from the rays of the sun.
So day after day, if we continue to think thoughts that are not for our best and highest good, our body will faithfully continue to reflect those thoughts. What we CAN do instead is change our thoughts. This is our choice AND this is our freedom from our aches and pains. Listen to your own inner thoughts during the day.
